Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Straube

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Straube studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the Technische Universität Berlin. In 1987 he was conferred his doctoral degree at Technische Universität Berlin in the field of logistics (under the guidance of Prof. Dr.-Ing. H. Baumgarten). Frank Straube managed numerous logistical projects for the TU Berlin and did so for the private business sector from 1984 until 1989. For 12 years he was chairman and shareholder of the board in an internationally active consulting and planning company specialized in logistics and corporate planning.In 2000 Prof. Straube became assistant lecturer for the management of logistical projects at the University Paris II (Pantheon-Assas), France, and in 2003 he became a permanent visiting professor there. After his postdoctoral lecture qualification (habilitation) in 2003 at the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland, he was chairman of the directorate and also founder of the Kühne-Institute for Logistics at the University of St.Gallen. Since 2005 he has been lecturing there as a permanent visiting professor.In October 2004 Prof. Straube accepted a chair at the Technische Universität Berlin. Since then he is head of the Chai of Logistics at the Institute of Technology and Management. In 2008 he contributed significantly to the formation of the chair of International Logistics Networks and Services at Tongji University, Shanghai, endowed by the Kühne-Foundation at the Chinesisch-Deutsches Hochschulkolleg (CDHK), and is a permanent visiting professor since then. Since 2009 he is the Cooperation Director of the partnership between the Abu Dhabi University and the Berlin Institute of Technology.He is a member of the German Logistics Association (BVL) and was vice chairman from 1997 until 2009. He is also a member of the board of the European Logistics Association (ELA) in Brussels, as well as a member in supervisory and advisory boards of renowned corporations. Furthermore Prof. Straube is the founder of the International Transfer Center for Logistics (ITCL), which is implementing innovative planning and professional development operations for companies.

Prof. Dr. Sidong Zhang

Prof. Dr. Sidong Zhang holds the chair for Supply Chain Management and Operations Management endowed by the Kühne Foundation at Chinesisch-Deutsches Hochschulkolleg (CDHK), Tongji University. He has a BE degree from Tongji University, a MBA degree from CEIBS and PhD degree from the Syracuse University in New York. The teaching focus of Professor Zhang is operation and supply chain management, contract theory and game theory whilst his research focuses mainly on supply chain operation optimization and risk control. Professor Zhang has publications in well-known international journals, like for example the European Journal of Operational Research and the International Journal of Production Economics. Professor Zhang teaches the EMBA and MBA program students from Tongji University, ETH, EPFL and Rennes.

Benjamin Nitsche, Dipl.-Ing.

Benjamin Nitsche, Dipl.-Ing. has graduated from TU Berlin with an engineering diploma in the field of Industrial Engineering and Management specializing in Logistics, Quality- and Project Management. After his diploma thesis with Axel Springer AG, covering the subject of operational location and network planning, he joint audio specialist Teufel GmbH as strategic procurement specialist. Since February 2014 Nitsche works as research co-worker at the The Kühne Foundation Center for International Logistics Networks at the Chair of Logistics at Technische Universität Berlin. His research focuses on the areas of supply chain risk management, volatility management and food logistics.

Joel Cedric Lengeling, M.Sc.

Joel Cedric Lengeling, M.Sc. has graduated from FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences in Germany and Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden with a degree in Software Engineering. Since Oktober 2016 Lengeling works as research co-worker at the The Kühne Foundation Center for International Logistics Networks at the Chair of Logistics at Technische Universität Berlin.

Peter Verhoeven, M.Sc.

Peter Verhoeven, M.Sc. has graduated from TU Berlin with a master degree in the field of Industrial Engineering and Management specialising in Logistics and Project Management. After his master thesis with Porsche AG, covering the subject of supplier management, he joint Deloitte Consulting as management consultant focussing on Strategy & Operations. Since November 2017 Peter Verhoeven works as research co-worker at the The Kühne Foundation Center for International Logistics Networks at the Chair of Logistics at Technische Universität Berlin.
